Bungalow homes are related to the Craftsman Style but with their own stylistic accents. They were often smaller in stature, with one or one-and-a-half stories. Efficiency was often a strong theme, exemplified by built-ins for storage. An open floor plan allowed cross-ventilation for comfort.

The front door typically leads either directly or very shortly to the living room. There is usually easy access to outdoor spaces like porches, patios and verandas and these, in turn, were sheltered by gables and treated like outdoor rooms.

First popular in the in the early 1900’s, the Bungalow style, with it’s distinct personality, has never lost favor and is growing in popularity once again.
