Timber Style – Dodgeville, WI
This elegant Timber style home sits on a more than 100 acre rural property in southwest Wisconsin and features a modern natural ambiance.
The first-floor master suite includes a deck and feature rich bathroom. Natural light from a window above the framed vanity mirror illuminates the Impero Carrara granite countertops, and a zero-entry shower showcases triple tile styles: deco-patterned flooring carried through from the main space, a herringbone accent wall, and tile with a woodgrain finish for niche accent, a bench and the ceiling. Unique tile flooring also appears in the powder room, in a plaid ceramic style with fabric texture, paired with wainscoting and whimsical beige wallpaper.
Also on the first floor are the kitchen, great room, office, and a screen porch complete with a fireplace. In the kitchen, Yorktowne knotty alder cabinetry in a cappuccino finish contrasts the Brittannica Gold finish of the quartz countertops and Antique White arabesque patterned backsplash, with an accent square above the range. The kitchen also boasts elegant light fixtures and a walk-in pantry, and leads into the open-concept dining and great rooms. A Cedar tongue and groove ceiling, decorative timber beams and other wood accents give the space a natural feel. Highlights of the great room and screen porch are floor to ceiling limestone hearth fireplaces with timber mantles. The office features double glass doors and built-in cabinetry.
Maple hardwood flooring runs throughout and onto the staircase, with a Douglas fir timber post and metal spindle railing. On the lower level are two additional bedrooms, each with a window seat, as well as a grand living room with a third fireplace accented with a timber mantle. This level also features a game room with a bar and an unfinished playroom and storage space. The two downstairs bedrooms have a shared bathroom and walk-in closets.
Organization, efficiency and comfort were emphasized in the design of this home. A laundry room and mudroom is located off the three-car garage, complete with cubbies and shelving for ample storage. Radiant flooring was installed throughout.
The home’s timber frame, covered front entry has a tongue and groove cedar ceiling and a chandelier. Siding is a combination of horizontal and vertical board and batten with an accent band, joined by rustic shakes, timber gable brackets, masonry and rain chains.
The five-bedroom, four and a half bathroom, 5,307 square foot home is a pristine combination of elegance and nature, inspired by its environment.
